THE LAST DAMN KID STILL KICKING THAT STILL BELIEVES

Dear Diary,
So Lark and I are skyping last night, right??
And we get around to crushes and I’m babbling on about Christopher and his hair and his smile and after I take a giant breath she drops the bombshell: “Yeah, I like Myles Caldwell.”
         WHAT?!?!
Here we have the ever-glamorous Lark Rainier, supposedly immune to having crushes, and now she likes one of the most popular guys in school. I mean, she can like him all she wants, I’m not like jealous or anything (I have Christopher), but I’ve gotten the impression over the years that she, being one of the more popular girls, has gotten desensitized to all the cute popular boys and just views them as friends or “oh yeah I know that guy” rather than “oh yeah I have a crush on that super popular boy”. And a lot of girls like Myles Caldwell, (I can’t see why, he’s a bigger goofball than Donald Trump), and I always thought Lark would go more for the freckled, geeky type, but Lark quickly proceeds to inform me that Myles really has a heart of gold (which she decided in her pre-crush days) and that he’s actually very very nice (also decided in her pre-crush days).
         Hmm.
I gave her stalking advice and told her if she ever wanted to cry over crushes together I would be more than willing.
In other love-ish news, I saw Leo come up behind this chick named Elise in the lunch line today and give her a giant hug. This is not okay. I mean, I like Elise. She’s in my English class, she’s a nice girl. But she is NOT ALLOWED TO BE WITH LEO HE IS MEANT FOR NAVAEH.
         PERIOD.

Love,
Waverly

  1. I thought the same thing about my oldish friend Gabby: She liked her mom's son Alan forever until right before school started this year when she drops the bomb that she likes Vince. (a popular boy) I was SO surprised.

LEO IS FOR NEVEAH. WHY DOES HE NOT REALIZE THIS?

  2. I don't know if you've ever seen the show awkward but the way you write kinda reminds me of how Jenna Hamilton writes in her blog in the show. I love it!

  3. Like Vanessa said, your posts remind me of Awkward!
I don't think anyone is immune to crushes on popular boys. All my friends have had them and when I thought I was totally immune, it happened to me to :P
