THE LAST DAMN KID STILL KICKING THAT STILL BELIEVES

Dear Diary,
Today was a regular lazy Monday. We didn't have any school because the electricity went out, so I spent all day at home lounging around in my pjs. Dad went out and bought seeds for his vegetable and herb garden - this year he wants to try peppers, carrots, lettuce, squash, basil, thyme, rosemary, and chives. Mom's excited for all the homemade salads she'll be able to make during the summer.
Also, Christopher texted me earlier today - he's trying out for the science bowl team! He's really nervous, though, since he's going up against sophomores, juniors, and seniors for a spot. He's pretty good on chemistry, but he's frantically studying for geology, astronomy, and biology (although not so much bio, since we're learning that right now). He asked me to quiz him all day at school tomorrow - his brother and Cameron are helping him right now. Tryouts are after school tomorrow, he says. HE'S SUCH A CUTE LITTLE NERD I CAN'T STAND IT.

Love,
Waverly
