I'M NOT GONNA GO HOME ALONE

Dear Diary,
         SNOWWWWWW OHHHHHHHHH YEEAAAAAHHHHHH.
There were warnings of a storm this morning on TV, but nothing really happened during the day. Emmalee and I were walking down to Here & There after class, however, and SWOOP came a ton of snow blowing in. All the high school students without cars broke into a run and made for Here & There to call their parents to have them pick them up. I sat in our usual table corner sipping a hot peppermint mocha and watching the land get turned from dismal, spiky grey to soft and beautiful white. It was very pretty. Even Emmalee paused her bio homework to watch.
When I got home, I lit a candle right away. It's a vanilla-scented one and mannnn does it smell good.
Tomorrow for Turkey Day we're having some of our stupid neighbors over - Mr. and Mrs. Arpad and their sons Jared and Clive. Ugh. They think Jared is sooooo cooool because he's on his high school's varsity football team and Clive is sooooo smarrrrrrt because he's taking algebra in seventh grade. I'm always expected to either hang with Jared or play with Clive, neither of which I want to do (especially since Clive's only one year younger than I am wtf do you expect me to babysit him or something he's thirteen that kid can take care of his own shit.) At least there'll be turkey. Maybe if I just help in the kitchen the whole time I'll be able to avoid the Arpads.

Love,
Waverly

  1. SNOOOOOW!!! I can't wait until it snows where I live but that won't be until, like, January :/
I love lighting candles because, even though it sounds weird, I love playing with matches. (No I'm not a psychopath about to burn my house down)

As my friend Sam says, when someone annoys her, tell them to eat a hamburger. I took algebra in 7th grade. Algebra 1 honors with a stupid teacher, at that. Most of my friends took in in 7th too, so he's no genius.

Oddly, there is a real genius in my grade. He's 10 and supposed to be in fifth grade, but is taking ALGEBRA and the rest of his classes are my grade. I honestly can't get over how he'll be 11 and in high school.

As for avoiding people I don't like (which I do a lot, bc books and music are more interesting then people and I'm super antisocial) I usually try to stick by my parents, or hide with my sister in various closets. If all else fails, put on/in your headphones/earbuds and turn the music up until you can't hear anything. (I do that on the bus to ignore this kid named Hunter)

Wow, sorry if that was a longish comment.
