WHY DON'T YOU SHOW ME A LITTLE BIT OF SPINE

Dear Diary,

         A THING HAPPENED TODAY AND I CAN’T CONTROL MY EXCITEMENT OVER THIS THING.

         So I was in the lunch line and all of a sudden I heard a familiar laugh in front of me. I looked around the bulk of a football-player senior and THERE WAS CHRISTOPHER. He didn’t see me, however, and even if he had he likely wouldn’t have known who I was. 

         But later in the lunch line, when the lunch ladies were scooping liquid mashed potatoes and overly-sweet corn onto our plates, he turned around because he needed a napkin or something and he’d forgotten it. He saw me and, on impulse, I smiled.

         Not the oh-my-gosh-I’m-so-romantically-attracted-to-you-I-want-to-have-you-up-against-the-wall kind of smile. Just the hey-I’m-a-random-stranger-and-I-thought-I’d-smile-at-you-and-make-your-day-a-little-better kind of smile.

         AND HE SMILED BACK.

         I THINK MY INSIDES LITERALLY MELTED.

         I don’t think I showed it, though, because he got his napkin and turned around without giving me a weird look.

         BUT OH-MY-GOSH I’M ON TOP OF THE WORLD.

         HAVE I MENTIONED BEFORE HOW GORGEOUS HIS SMILE IS???

         OKAY NOW I AM.

         I was giggling madly throughout most of lunch.

         I think Aidan was concerned for my sanity.

         (Although what’s new there?)
