I WILL DEFEND THE FAITH

Dear Diary,
Today Granny Alice got in the mail some handmade Tibetan prayer flags. They’re from an organization that wants her to donate to help save Tibet from China. She gave me the flags, and they’re very beautiful. Small squares of brightly colored - I want to say tissue paper, although they’re more substantial, like several layers of tissue paper - in bright reds, rich blues, etc. Prayers are handwritten on them in exquisite gold ink, as well as an accompanying picture of a rider on a horse. The prayers are in a foreign language (Tibetan?), so I can’t read them, but they are very beautiful to look at. There are five little squares, all attached to a string. Granny says the legend is that you hang them up outside, and when the wind flaps them that sends the prayer out into the world. I think it’s a very lovely thought, and I want to hang these outside my window. But I don’t want them to fall down or get damaged by the elements!
In other news, I still can’t decide whether or not to dye my hair. I’m leaning towards it, but I can’t decide how. Blue or purple? Dip-dyed or streaks? AGHH.

Love,
Waverly

  1. Those sound pretty. I wish my grandma did that...

I would say dye it. I kinda wanted to from the beginning, and I have to say it was worth it.
BTW I would do dip-dye. I dunno your hair color, but I prefer blue in general.

    1. They are. :)
Okay, thanks! It's kinda an auburn/brown, like a reddish brown not all the way to auburn but not all the way to brown. Is there a specific shade you would recommend?

    2. It sounds a lot like my friend's hair. (I'm gonna base it off her hair) I would suggest a darker blue to a dark purple. I think my friend's going to dye her hair soon and she wants dark purple :)
